Greetings from the chaos of my life, aka The Ex Vows comes out in five days and I have about five million things to do before I head out on the road for my California tour. Speaking of, I have a bunch of things to tell you, but I’m going to make like Georgia Woodward and provide you with a list because as you’ll see soon, she LOVES a list.
I have four July events to celebrate the release of The Ex Vows! I hope to see some of you there!
On July 16th (aka pub day!) I’ll be at Books, Inc, in conversation with my dear friend and fellow writer Laura Marie Meyers! The event is at the Chestnut Street location in San Francisco and is ticketed. You can grab a ticket HERE.
On July 19th, I’ll be at The Ripped Bodice LA, in conversation with my best friend and brilliant writer of the forthcoming LEAVE AND COME BACK (PRH 2026), Lavanya Lakshmi. Lavanya and I have been friends since our baby writer days and while I know we won’t be able to cram everything we want to say (loving words, mostly) into an hour, we’ll still have LOTS of fun! You can grab a ticket HERE.
On July 20th, I’ll be at Meet Cute Bookshop in San Diego, in conversation with one of my favorite writers and people, Tarah Dewitt! Can’t wait to chat all things Georgia, Eli, and most likely Sage and Fisher too because I will never be over Savor It. You can grab a ticket HERE.
On July 26th, I’ll be at Capital Books in Sacramento, in conversation with Hilarie Anderson (@hilarie_reads on Instagram!). You can grab a ticket HERE.
PLEASE NOTE: I’m requesting everyone wear a mask at these events. I’ll have extras in case anyone forgets!
Just a note you can still preorder The Ex Vows from any retailer and get the Theo Spencer POV bonus (just make sure you fill out this form to receive it the week of July 22nd). When you order with Books, Inc you’ll get a signed and personalized copy, as well as the swag below and the Theo Spencer POV bonus. Books, Inc is the ONLY retailer where you can get the signed preorder + swag! Make sure you get your preorder in by July 15th!
Barnes & Noble is having a 25% off preorders sale for MEMBERS ONLY, from now until July 17 and you can grab The Ex Vows HERE until July 15th (it won’t be eligible after that for obvious reasons)! Thank you for everyone who’s taken advantage of it so far and making Georgia and Eli a bestseller 🥹
The last Goodreads giveaway for The Ex Vows is currently going on! It goes through July 15th and 50 Kindle ebooks are up for grabs. You can enter HERE.
Also, a couple lovely pieces of news!
The Ex Vows was chosen as an August Indie Next pick, which is a list of the month’s top books, voted on by independent booksellers. I love indie bookstores so much and adore booksellers, so the honor I feel is ASTRONOMICAL.
Thank you to Claire at River & Hill Books in Rome, Georgia (omg I just realized the connection between Georgia and Georgia!!!) who said: “A swoony story about two best friends finding their way back to each other after breaking up five years ago. Georgia and Eli must work together for their best friend Adam’s wedding and realize they left a lot unsaid. I had butterflies the whole time!” Thank you again, Claire!!
The Ex Vows was also chosen as a July LibraryReads pick! This is a recommendation program that highlights librarians’ favorite new books and highlights ten titles per month. I grew up in libraries and have always been in awe of the magic of them, so this is also a truly incredible honor!!!
Thank you Rebecca at Lakeland Public Library in Florida who said: “A sweet second chance romance, in which exes Georgia and Eli must cooperate to save their best friend’s wedding. A satisfying story of two people finding their way back to each other, either as friends or something more. An incredibly well-written romance.”
Finally, I’m sending this on July 11th, which means that it’s the one year anniversary of the book that changed my life, You, with a View. I’m just going to copy and paste what I said in my Instagram post, which is this:
In the months leading up to You, with a View’s release, I really had no idea what to expect. Would people like it? Would they hate it? Would anyone even know it existed?
But then that nebulous “they” turned into YOU and I could NEVER have predicted what you’d do for me: not just pick this book up, but embrace it wholeheartedly. Tell your friends about it. Tell me about your grandparents and your love and your grief. Speak my grandma Joyce’s name out loud thousands of times. Make the most beautiful aesthetics and playlists and posts. In fact, you embraced it so wholeheartedly that you put it on the USA Today bestseller list WEEKS after it came out and wow, if that’s not a testament to the power of words—the way you responded to mine and then used your own—I don’t know what is. It’s amazing to me that people are still discovering Noelle and Theo’s (and Paul and Kat’s!!!) journey, and that you’ve shown not just them so much love, but me too.
I really believe that books find the people they’re meant for when they need it most, and I truly hope that’s been the case with YWAV. It certainly found me at the right moment and if it did that for you too, then isn’t that just so pretty to think about, this little string that connects us (yes, that is a shameless ode to invisible string, which I like to think of as Noelle and Theo’s theme song.
Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t share the absolutely GORGEOUS edits that Ada at Archetype made for this very special occasion. They include some of my (and your!) favorite quotes, but pay special attention to the last one because it’s a sneak peek at the Theo bonus!
Thank you for all the love you’ve given The Ex Vows over these past few months. In five days it’ll be YOURS!!
P.S. Please excuse any typos, I’m huddled in a cabana at a water park right now and I cannot explain to you the chaos I am surrounded by. Story of my life these days!!! But thankfully I caught these 😅😂
New follower here and just wanted to say that I LOVED The Ex-Vows! One of my favorite romance reads of 2024 and maybe of all time, I’ve recommended it to so many of my friends and it’s helped them get out of their reading hiatuses! Thank you for sharing your amazing writing!!
oh my god im hyperventilating at the fact that you have a SUBSTACK!!! the way the ex vows had me in a chokehold is unlike no other (and also of course you with a view had me in tears). actually both did.
