Hello! Told you that you’d hear from me soon, and here I am keeping my word.
I come bearing very exciting gifts in this newsletter: last week I formally announced my preorder campaign for The Ex Vows over on Instagram. When you order through my amazing local indie bookstore, Books Inc, you’ll get a signed and personalized copy of The Ex Vows, along with magnificent swag designed by the absolutely brilliant Archetype duo, Kelsey and Ada.
A recap, in case you didn’t see it on Instagram:
I’m obsessed with it all—the postcard from (the fictional, sadly) Blue Yonder Winery, the perfect stickers, and, of course, the book itself because I will NEVER be over that cover (and I’m partial to the contents within as well). These items are exclusive to Books Inc, so you’ll only get this swag if you order through them.
But wait, there’s more!
When you preorder from anywhere—Books Inc, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the PRH website, your own favorite indie, any of the many amazing romance-specific bookstores—literally anywhere IN THE WORLD because yes, this is an international preorder incentive, you’ll get the Theo Spencer POV bonus scene(s) I wrote just for you. I mean, I wrote it for me, too, but it’s mostly for you for being so amazing.
Let me tell you about it, and then I’ll tell you how to get it.
Awhile back on Instagram, I asked people what they’d most like to see from Theo’s POV: something from the past? Something from the book? Some moment in the future? The resounding answer, of course, was “ALL OF IT, PLEASE,” which I anticipated and was delighted to hear.
Even before I asked the question, I’d already been cooking up a concept in my mind, and now I’m happy to reveal the title, which indeed does reveal quite a bit:
Five Times Theo Spencer Thought About Loving Noelle Shepard!!!! 😭
As the title indicates, this bonus scene is actually five vignettes of times when Theo Spencer thought about loving Noelle Shepard. You’ll get a glimpse of the past, a glimpse of his POV from the book, and then you’ll get to see into the future (I’m so channeling Flor). You’ll get sweet! You’ll get sex! You’ll get cameos from your faves! Most importantly, you’ll get to see Theo Spencer down so, so bad through his own eyes.
Because I’m me, I can’t do this reveal without giving you a teensy tiny taste of what you’ll find when this bonus is delivered to you via a one-time email from my newsletter the week of July 22nd.
Here’s a snippet from our boy (as yet unedited, no judgies!):
“Did you hear what people are trying to get on the fundraiser docket?”
It takes me a second to recognize that the voice behind me isn’t my dad’s, ready with a recap of all the ways I fucked up despite winning my match today.
It takes me another second to recognize whose voice it is. When I do, my body lights up.
I glance over my shoulder, starting from the ground up because I know I won’t want to miss a detail—the high-top Converse sneakers with a flower on the sole, right next to a slash mark from my pen when my hand was kicked away trying to add a design in AP Lit. Legs for miles and cutoff shorts to show them. Some sort of shirt and long blond hair I can spot across a room. A face with all the normal human face shit, except different: a smart mouth; brown eyes that could nail you to a wall; dark eyebrows made for rudeness, but only with me.
Noelle Shepard. My high school rival for the last four years, according to everyone else. Her most of all.
She’ll get pissed if I smile, so I do, then turn back to slipping my racket into my bag. “‘Congratulations on winning your match, Spencer. You absolutely destroyed that guy, Spencer. Your tennis skills are god-like, Spencer.’” My zipper sounds like thunder in her stormy silence, even with the buzz of conversation bouncing around the Glenlake High tennis courts. “All great ways to start a conversation.”
When I turn to face her, she’s staring at me, unimpressed. “Are you done?”
I sling my bag over my shoulder. “No. I have a bullet-point list of all the things I want to hear you say.”
Yes, so we’re starting with high school Spence and Shep, and writing them at that age from Theo’s POV? 😭 It really put me in my feelings!! I love them!! I hope you love this alternate view of them, too, when you get it.
“HOW DO WE GET IT?” you’re probably screaming at me, which is so fair.
This is how it works: click on this SurveyMonkey link and enter all the pertinent information in the provided cells (proof of purchase obviously being important and required) anytime between today, June 6, and July 15th. You must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Incomplete forms will not be eligible. The week of July 22nd, you’ll receive a PDF of the bonus content via a one-time email from my newsletter.
As I mentioned before, this is for anyone who has preordered The Ex Vows, from any retailer, and is an international preorder incentive. If you preordered in January, you’re eligible. If you preorder on July 15th, you’re eligible. Just make sure you provide that proof of purchase!
Okay, that’s it! Thank you so much for all the support you’ve shown You, with a View, The Ex Vows, and me. You are my favorite part of all of this.
xoxo

I am pretty selective about what I pre-order, but I'm so glad I chose to with The Ex Vows because this is quite the incentive! Can't wait to get inside Theo's head.
Oh my gosh!!
